The Viva Farms Incubator, located in the Skagit Valley, 60 mi. north of Seattle, is a non-profit project that encourages farm entry and long-term viability by providing new and minority farmers affordable access to sustainable small farm and ranch education, training, and technical assistance; land, shared infrastructure and equipment; markets; and capital and credit. Core areas of support include organic production practices, marketing, sales, distribution, record keeping and liability management. The farm incubator is not an end point for farmers. It is a starting point to transition them to secure long-term tenure. Once farmers establish stable agricultural enterprises at the incubator, Viva Farms will help them relocate to new land and continue growing their operations.
